At the LeviArs Kirkland Design Center, compare countertop direction alongside cabinet colors, tile, flooring and lighting. We help narrow the material and finish before the details move into a measured plan.
Some decisions need a small sample; others need the full slab. We coordinate that review with the selected supplier and fabricator so product choice, layout and installation requirements stay connected.
Understand the material
Start with the actual material, then compare color, veining and finish. A marble-inspired pattern does not make a product natural marble.
Compare the exact manufacturer’s composition, finish and care instructions. Engineered designs can resemble marble, quartzite or concrete while remaining a different material. Review a physical sample and the complete slab pattern.
Natural mineral patterns vary from slab to slab. Consider the specific stone, finish and edge detail, and review the selected slab before approving fabrication. Sealing and care depend on that selection.

The material is one decision. Edge profiles, supports, joints and adjoining finishes complete the plan.
Review the island, vertical ends and backsplash together. The approved layout determines how the pattern moves across each surface and where joints appear.
Coordinate kitchen cabinets →Choose a profile suited to the material, thickness and room. Eased, beveled, rounded and built-up or mitered details are reviewed with the fabricator before approval.
Use the selected product’s actual specification. Overhangs, spans, cabinets, brackets and cutouts determine the support and installation details; one thickness rule does not cover every material.
Plan how the top meets the vertical panel. Review veining, joints, edge construction, cabinet clearance and the extra slab area required before fabrication.
Coordinate the backsplash with windows, outlets, upper cabinets and the range. Review slab layout and seams together with the countertop.
Confirm the island, perimeter counters, sink, faucet and appliance openings as one measured layout. The finished cabinet installation must support the agreed plan.
Coordinate basin style, faucet holes, splash height and usable counter space. Confirm wall conditions, cabinet dimensions and access before templating.

Your written scope connects selection, supplier coordination and the work required in your home.
Bring cabinet and flooring ideas to the Kirkland Design Center. Compare surface samples, undertones, pattern scale, finish and care expectations.
Confirm the manufacturer, design, finish and thickness. For natural stone, review the actual slabs; photographs and small samples cannot show every variation.
Agree the scope, then coordinate a field template when cabinets and site conditions are ready. Final sink, faucet and appliance specifications are needed.
Review layout, seams, edge profiles, cutouts, backsplash and waterfall details. Confirm product availability and fabrication timing before scheduling installation.
Coordinate delivery, access, protection and the agreed installation work. Plumbing, electrical and other connections follow the responsibilities in your project scope.
Walk through the installed work and receive the selected material’s care guidance and applicable warranty information.
Live well with your selection
Discuss the upkeep you are comfortable with before selecting a surface. Review cleaning products, spill care, sealing where applicable, and protection around heat and cutting tasks.
Keep the manufacturer, collection, finish and installation records with your project documents. Product and workmanship coverage follow the applicable written terms.

No. Quartzite is a natural stone. Quartz and other engineered countertop surfaces are manufactured products; their ingredients and performance vary by brand and collection. We keep those categories separate when comparing products.
Yes. Bring cabinet finishes and flooring ideas to the Design Center so you can review undertones, pattern scale and texture together. Confirm the final surface with physical samples and, where appropriate, the actual slab.
No. Use only a product approved for that application and a suitable supporting assembly. The selected slab’s dimensions, thickness, finish, edge and fabrication instructions determine the details.
Photographs are selection references. Lighting and screens change color, natural stone varies between slabs, and manufactured patterns can vary across the full surface. Approve the physical material and fabrication layout before work begins.
Material, quantity, slab layout, removal, access, templates, fabrication, edge profiles, cutouts, seams, backsplash, waterfall ends and required supporting work all affect the scope. Your written proposal identifies what is included.
Follow the selected manufacturer’s care instructions. Use appropriate cleaners, cutting boards and heat protection. Some natural stone needs sealing; engineered surfaces and porcelain have their own guidance. Avoid treating every surface as having the same care requirements.
